BrightSide Success FAQs

Last updated 08/23/2026.

BrightSide Success is a career and leadership coaching organization that helps high-performing professionals, especially those in technology roles, get clarity on their next move, build the confidence to make it, and create measurable career momentum. Founded by Denise Lintz, a seasoned tech leader with decades of leadership and tech expertise, BrightSide Success offers private one-to-one coaching, team coaching, and workshops. The flagship offering is the Leadership Success program, a structured three-month private coaching engagement built for professionals who are ready to convert effort into visibility, influence, and career advancement. BrightSide Success's guiding promise: Get There. Get Clear. Get Confident.

BrightSide Success is for high-performing professionals in technology, engineering, product, and operations roles who are ready to move to the next level of their careers. The most common individual client is someone who is already operating above their title, delivering strong performance reviews, but is not being recognized, promoted, or invited to shape direction the way their capability deserves. BrightSide Success also works with professionals navigating reorgs, expanded scope, seeking their next role, complex technical environments, or a move into AI-enabled work. On the corporate side, BrightSide Success partners with organizations that want to coach teams, retain high-potential talent, and develop leadership bench strength.

BrightSide Success is different because coaching is delivered by a founder with decades of direct leadership and tech experience, not by a generalist trained in coaching alone. Denise Lintz brings the perspective of someone who has led, hired, promoted, and coached inside technology environments, and that lived experience shapes every session. BrightSide Success is also structured for professionals who want measurable movement. The flagship Leadership Success program is a defined three-month engagement with 12 coaching sessions, a personalized Success Blueprint, and clear accountability. The BrightSide Success coach team, including Angelica Kontos and Liana Kaplani, extends this same practical, results-oriented approach across strategy execution and technical leadership coaching.

Denise Lintz is the founder of BrightSide Success and the lead coach across its individual and team engagements. She brings decades of leadership and technology expertise, an MBA, and direct experience as a seasoned tech leader who has navigated the same career inflection points her clients face. Denise's coaching style is practical, results-oriented, and strengths-based. She is known for empowering professionals to lead with purpose, build confidence, and accelerate career growth. Her lived experience inside technology environments, rather than any single credential or off-the-shelf methodology, is the foundation of the BrightSide Success coaching approach.

Yes. BrightSide Success works with both individuals and teams. Individual clients typically enroll in a private coaching engagement such as the Leadership Success program. Teams and organizations engage BrightSide Success for group coaching, leadership workshops, and customized programs that develop bench strength, accelerate readiness for the next role, and build a shared leadership language across the group. Corporate engagements are tailored to the organization's goals, whether that is retaining high-potential employees, preparing new managers, or coaching a team through a reorg or expanded scope. Contact Denise directly to scope a team engagement.

Career coaching is a structured, outcomes-based partnership between a professional and a trained coach, focused on the client's specific career goals over a defined period. A career coach helps the client assess where they are today, clarify where they want to go, and build a practical plan to close the gap. Sessions typically cover positioning, communication, decision-making, leadership skills, and executive presence. Unlike a one-time service, career coaching is an ongoing engagement with accountability built in. At BrightSide Success, strategic career coaching is delivered as a defined three-month private engagement (the Leadership Success) or as customized team and workshop formats for organizations.

Growth coaching and career strategy is a structured, goal-driven partnership focused on measurable professional outcomes over a defined period, typically three to six months. A mentor shares personal experience and network informally, without a plan or accountability structure. A therapist focuses on emotional and mental health. A resume writer produces a single deliverable. A career coach assesses the client's current situation, defines a specific goal such as a promotion or role transition, builds a step-by-step plan, and holds the client accountable session by session. At BrightSide Success, coaching sessions integrate strategy, mindset, and executable steps so that clients leave with clarity, confidence, and forward motion, not just conversation.

Career coaching for engineers and tech professionals is a specialized form of career coaching that recognizes the specific dynamics of technical careers: the individual contributor versus management fork, the challenge of being promoted without a formal people-management track record, the pressure of navigating reorgs and complex technical environments, and the tendency for high performers to be kept in place because they are too valuable to move. BrightSide Success specializes in coaching engineers, product managers, data professionals, and technical leaders through these inflection points. Founder Denise Lintz brings direct experience as a tech leader, and the BrightSide Success coach team includes Angelica Kontos and Liana Kaplani, who bring specialized expertise in strategy execution and technical leadership coaching.

The clearest signs a technical professional is being overlooked for promotion include consistently doing work above your current title without a title change, watching peers with similar tenure get promoted first, receiving strong performance reviews but vague answers about the path to the next level, being told you are "not ready" without specific behavior gaps named, and being trusted to execute but not invited to shape direction. In our experience coaching engineers, product managers, and technical leaders, being overlooked is almost always about visibility, positioning, and executive presence. The old adage of work hard and you’ll be discovered, rarely works. Our clients have strong capabilities but need visibility. These are learnable skills, and they are the core focus of BrightSide Success's Services.

Executive presence for technical leaders is built through three practices: communicating with clarity about business impact rather than technical detail, demonstrating judgment under ambiguity by making and owning decisions with incomplete information, and developing a leadership voice that senior stakeholders trust. Technical leaders often default to depth and precision, which builds credibility with peers but not with executives. Building presence requires learning to translate technical work into business language, forming an opinion and stating it, and showing up in meetings as someone who moves the discussion forward rather than reports on status. BrightSide Success coaches technical leaders on these specific skills using decision and trust frameworks that senior leaders rely on, along with advanced communication mastery and ongoing accountability across a three-month engagement.

The Leadership Success program is BrightSide Success's flagship private coaching engagement, designed to move a professional from stalled to promoted, or from feeling overlooked to being clearly positioned for their next role, inside a single focused quarter. The program includes 12 coaching sessions over three months, support between sessions to maintain momentum, a personalized Success Blueprint aligned to the client's role and next level, and VIP guidance to accelerate clarity, confidence, and execution. Core focus areas include a Custom Leadership Blueprint that positions the client for high-visibility roles, decision and trust frameworks used by senior leaders, advanced communication mastery, and ongoing accountability with strategic feedback. The program is built for high-performing professionals who are already operating above their title and are ready to change how they are positioned, seen, and advanced.

Preparing for a senior-level career transition or promotion begins with clarity, not action. Before applying, interviewing, or asking for the title, invest four to eight weeks in getting the fundamentals right: define the specific type of role, environment, and impact you want; rewrite your resume and LinkedIn profile around leadership outcomes rather than task lists; develop a strong narrative for how you talk about your experience, including a clear answer to "walk me through your career"; identify a small target list of companies, contacts, or internal stakeholders; and rehearse the difficult conversations about scope, promotion, or compensation before you need them. Applying or asking without this preparation typically extends the process by months. BrightSide Success works with clients through this preparation as part of the Leadership Success Program.

Leading effectively through a reorg or expanded scope requires three shifts: leading directly and decisively without freezing or second-guessing, owning key messages and delivering them with authority, and building trust with new stakeholders quickly. Reorgs and scope changes surface hidden assumptions about your leadership: who trusts you, whose backing you have lost, and whether you can hold clarity when everyone around you is anxious. The most common mistake is to wait for the new organization to settle before repositioning yourself, by which point others have already claimed the ground. BrightSide Success coaches professionals through reorgs, expanded scope, and complex technical environments as a core focus area of the Leadership Success program.

Leaders help high-potential employees who feel stuck by naming the specific gap, giving stretch work that develops the missing capability, and creating visibility for the employee with more senior leaders. Employees who feel stuck are usually strong performers who have hit an invisible ceiling: they are doing the job of the next level but are not yet seen at that level. The manager's role is to close the visibility gap in addition to the skill gap. That means advocating in calibration and promotion conversations, sponsoring the employee into stretch projects, and being direct about what specifically needs to change for a title move. When internal support alone is not enough, external coaching accelerates the process. BrightSide Success partners with organizations to coach both individuals and teams through this exact challenge.
